Tuneful and macOS 26 Tahoe beta: What's Happening with Apple Music Integration
If you're running the macOS 26 Tahoe beta and notice Apple Music isn't working properly in Tuneful, you're not alone. This is due to changes Apple made in the beta that break Apple Music integrations system-wide. Spotify integration works as expected, and isn't affected by these changes.
With the upcoming release of macOS 26 Tahoe, Apple has made significant changes to the way Apple Music works under the hood. Unfortunately, these changes have broken the APIs Tuneful relies on, and Apple Music no longer exposes the data Tuneful needs to display song details.
A similar situation happened with macOS 15.4, when Apple Music integrations suddenly broke during the beta period. The good news is that Apple restored the functionality by the time 15.4 shipped to the public. Hopefully, history will repeat itself this time as well.
That said, I'm actively exploring potential workarounds to fully restore Apple Music functionality on macOS 26. For now, the most important thing is transparency: if you rely on Apple Music within Tuneful, please be aware that the Tahoe betas may not provide the usual experience.
I also want to take a moment to thank you for being part of this journey. I've received so many kind emails and messages, and they truly mean a lot. Your support keeps this little project alive and moving forward. I'm very excited about what's coming next.
